Our founders are an American man and his Brazilian partner. Their relationship informs our belief that loving someone includes learning about the world that helped shape them: language, food, family, places, and everyday life.

Vale means valley. The number 55 is Brazil’s international calling code. Together, our name holds a sense of place and a connection across distance.
